CONFIGURING A COMPUTER FOR ACCESS TO THE BEC COMMUNITY
NETWORK
Q. I plan to buy a new computer fairly soon. What do I need to do
to connect to the Internet?
A. You don't need to obtain any software from the Community
Network. However, you'll need instructions for configuring your new
computer. If you don't have recent instructions, they can be printed from
our Website. Click here, then
click the link appropriate for your version of Windows and print.
Get in touch with the Helpdesk if you want a copy faxed.
Q. Actually, I plan to keep the old computer too. Can I use both
computers to connect to the Internet?
A. Yes - you can configure any number of computers to access your
Internet service. Only one connection is permitted at any given time,
however.
Q. I may be be moving soon. What happens with my Internet
connection?
A. If you can call toll-free to St. Catharines or Beamsville, you
can still call our modems without line charges. The Community Network
would appreciate an update of your address and telephone number via
Email.
