MACINTOSH SETUP INSTRUCTIONS :

- Click the Apple menu icon and move to Control Panels
- For OS9 and above, select "Remote Access". For older OS versions, select "PPP".
- Enter the modem telephone number: 905-684-9089 (from the Grimsby calling area only, use 905-563-6330)
- Select "Options", then "Protocol"
- uncheck all boxes, click "OK"
- In the Menu Bar, click "PPP" (for OS9 and above, select "Remote Access")
- Select "TCP/IP"
- select
- Connect via: PPP
- Configure: Using PPP Server
- Remove anything that appears in any of the following fields:
- IP Address:
- Name Server Address:
- Starting Domain Name:
- Ending Domain Name:
- Additional Search Domains:
- Close the "TCP/IP" window & save changes
- Close the "PPP" (or "Remote Access") window & save changes

1. Click "System Preferences" in the Dock.
2. In the "System Preferences" window, click "Network".
3. Click the "Show" menu, then click "Active Network Ports".
4. Uncheck the ports you don't need. Normally you only need to have
"Modem" checked.
5. Click the "Show" menu, then click "Modem".
6. Click the "TCP/IP" tab. In the "Configure" menu, select "Using PPP".
7. Click "Save" at the bottom of the window.
8. Click the "PPP" tab. Type your username in the appropriate
field. Type 905-684-9089 (or 905-563-6330 if you live in the Grimsby
calling area) in the "Telephone number" field. In the "Service Provider"
field, type BEC. In the "Account Name" field, type your username (login).
Do not enter your entire email address - only your username.
If your want your password to be saved by the computer, check the "Save
password" box and type in your password. Remember the security
implications of saving your password.
9. Click the "PPP Options" button.
If you check "Connect automatically when starting TCP/IP
applications", then your computer will dial automatically when you start
your browser or email program.
Make sure that "Disconnect when user logs out" is checked. Don't
change settings in "Advanced Options".
10. Click "OK" to close the "Options" window, then click the "Save" button
at the bottom of the "System Preferences" window.
11. Click the "Modem" tab. Make sure that your modem is selected in the
"Modem" menu.
Check the box "Show modem status in menu bar".
12. Click "Save", then close "System Preferences".
13. To connect, click the Modem icon in the menu bar, then click
"Connect".
To disconnect, click the Modem icon in the menu bar, then click
Disconnect".
