To connect to the Internet, open Internet Explorer (for Web browsing) or
Outlook Express (for email), or other similar software.
Make sure your password is in the "Password" field of the
connection dialog box, then click "Connect" (or "Dial").
You may hear dialing and noise from the modem (the handshake),
then see a "verifying password" window. A small icon that looks like two
linked computers should appear near the clock, indicating that you're
connected.
To disconnect without closing the program, right-click on that icon, then
click "Disconnect".
Changing your password
New clients are encouraged to change their password once
familiar with the new connection.
To change your password on the Community Network system at any
time (when connected), click the "Change password" link on niagara.becon.org. Type in your
login & current password first, then follow instructions.
Remember that this instructs the Community Network servers to
change your password. If you have chosen to tell your computer to save
your password, it will of course "remember" the old one. You will need
to delete the old password from your own computer, and type in the new
one.
